How One Organization Turned NBF Livestream into a Regional Growth and Networking Event

For many organizations, Nordic Business Forum is much more than just a livestream.

With the Group Livestream solution, companies and organizations can create their own local event experience around the Nordic Business Forum keynotes and discussions. We love how their events bring people together in one location to learn, network, and discuss ideas in their own context.

Some organize internal team learning days at the office. Others invite customers, partners, and potential clients to create meaningful conversations and strengthen relationships. Many also complement the livestream with their own keynote speakers, moderated discussions, workshops, or networking sessions.

One organization that turned the NBF livestream into a successful local event was Leader Tunturi-Lappi. Through their “Arctic Wisdom” project, they organized a two-day regional event focused on entrepreneurship, innovation, and collaboration in Fell Lapland.

Bringing World-Class Inspiration to Lapland

For organizations operating outside major business hubs, access to world-class events is not always easy. This was in fact one of the key motivations behind Leader Tunturi-Lappi’s decision to organize a local Group Livestream event. Saana Peurasaari, Project Manager at Tunturi Leader explained:

“In Lapland, we are geographically far from many major events like the Nordic Business Forum. However, our local companies are extremely innovative and developing at a rapid pace.”

Leader Tunturi-Lappi works to support small businesses and villages across the region. For them, the livestream offered an opportunity to bring international-level inspiration directly to local entrepreneurs who otherwise may not have the time or possibility to travel.

“What better way to do this than to bring Europe’s most interesting business event directly here to the Fell Lapland region!”

The timing was especially important because most companies in the region are micro- and small businesses with limited time resources, particularly ahead of the busy winter season.

At the same time, the region lacked a shared forum where entrepreneurs from different municipalities could come together, exchange ideas, and experience a strong atmosphere of growth and innovation together. According to Saana, the impact was immediate:

“The atmosphere at the event was incredibly inspiring and driven.”

One entrepreneur even shared afterward that right after the event they decided to finally move forward with an investment they had been planning for two years.

Building a Local Event Around the Livestream

Rather than simply streaming the content onto a screen, Leader Tunturi-Lappi built an entire two-day experience around Nordic Business Forum. The event took place at the Kellokas Visitor Centre, which was fully transformed into a business and networking hub for the duration of the event. Project manager Saana shared:

“The stream ran live in the auditorium, and during breaks, we hosted moderated segments and speeches. We brought in regional funders and development organizations—such as the Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment (ELY Centre), universities, Business Finland, and Finnvera. This created opportunities for both open networking and pre-booked consultation sessions.”

Participants could not only watch world-class business speakers from Nordic Business Forum, but also discuss funding opportunities, business growth, and development ideas directly with local experts. This combination of global inspiration and local interaction transformed the livestream into something much larger than a viewing event:

“In practice, for two days, all the key players needed for business development were under one roof. This transformed Kellokas into an active and innovative platform for growth and networking.”

Creating Meaningful Encounters and Conversations

For Leader Tunturi-Lappi, success was not measured only by attendance numbers. The event attracted more than 120 participants across the two days, but the organizers considered the quality of the audience even more important.

“The majority were exactly the small entrepreneurs we wanted to reach and encourage to network more broadly.”

The combination of livestream content, networking opportunities, and local discussions helped participants form new relationships and generate new ideas.

Feedback from attendees was overwhelmingly positive, with the event receiving an average rating of 4.57/5. Perhaps most importantly, the event highlighted the potential for stronger collaboration and innovation culture across the region. Saana also shared how the attendees asked for more:

“Several participants hoped this would evolve into a permanent forum in Lapland that brings entrepreneurs, developers, and funders together across municipal boundaries.”

More Than a Stream — A Platform for Local Impact

One of the strengths of the Group Livestream solution is its flexibility. Organizations can tailor the experience to their own goals, audience, and culture. Some use it internally for leadership and team development. Others create customer events, networking opportunities, or regional business forums.

Leader Tunturi-Lappi’s experience demonstrates how the livestream can act as a catalyst for much broader collaboration. Saana also emphasized that the greatest value came from intentionally building interaction around the content itself:

“The stream serves as a fantastic tool to build a development environment anywhere for the duration of the event. The greatest value for us was created by boldly building encounters, discussions, and cooperation around the stream.”
