Nordic Business Forum 2026 is Again a Certified Nordic Swan Ecolabelled Event

We’re proud to share that Nordic Business Forum 2026 organized on 16-17 September in Helsinki, has again been certified with the Nordic Swan Ecolabel. This confirms our commitment to organizing Europe’s leading business conferences in a more environmentally responsible way.

Sustainability Is an Ongoing Process

Sustainability shouldn’t be a one-time achievement. It’s an ongoing journey of learning, improving, and making better choices—year after year.

As environmental challenges continue to affect communities and businesses around the world, we believe that every organization has a responsibility to reduce its impact. While no single event can solve the climate crisis, every decision matters. That’s why we’re committed to continuously improving how Nordic Business Forum is organized and inviting our partners and attendees to be part of that effort.

“Receiving the Nordic Swan Ecolabel again is an important recognition, but even more importantly, it reminds us that sustainability is a continuous process,” says Hans-Peter Siefen, Co-Founder and Executive Producer of Nordic Business Forum. “Every year we learn something new and look for ways to make our event more sustainable.”

What Does the Nordic Swan Ecolabel Mean?

The Nordic Swan Ecolabel is the official environmental certification supported by the Nordic countries. For events, it evaluates a wide range of environmental criteria covering areas such as energy, transportation, catering, waste management, procurement, and logistics.

Maintaining the certification requires systematic work and continuous improvements—not only from the event organizer but throughout the entire value chain.

”The Nordic Swan Ecolabel helps event organizers take a structured and long-term approach to environmental work. We are delighted that Nordic Business Forum continues to challenge itself to meet the criteria and develop better event practices year after year,” says Riikka Holopainen, CEO of Ecolabelling Finland.

The Concrete Actions We Are Taking

Environmental responsibility has been part of Nordic Business Forum’s operations for many years.

Over the years, we’ve worked to encourage public transportation, reduce unnecessary materials, reuse event signage and lanyards, replace bottled water with tap water, eliminate disposable tableware from our buffets, minimize food waste, and prioritize plant-based catering alongside responsibly sourced ingredients whenever animal products are served.

The Nordic Swan Ecolabel also challenges us to keep improving. It has helped us strengthen supplier requirements, develop our waste sorting practices, pay closer attention to the environmental impact of printed materials, and continuously improve the sustainability of our event production.

The work never stops—and that’s exactly how it should be.

Our Guests Play an Important Role Too

Creating a more sustainable event is a shared effort. Every attendee can make choices that help reduce the event’s environmental impact. So, if you’re joining us in Helsinki this September, here are a few simple ways you can contribute:

  • Travel to the venue by public transportation, walking, or cycling whenever possible
  • Bring a reusable water bottle and refill it throughout the event
  • Recycle your waste using the clearly marked recycling stations
  • Take only as much food as you plan to eat to help reduce food waste
  • Take the ideas you learn at NBF back to your organization and create a positive impact there

Small actions become meaningful when thousands of people make them together.

Sustainability Is a Journey We Continue Together

Receiving the Nordic Swan Ecolabel for a second consecutive year is something we’re genuinely proud of. Not because it marks the finish line, but because it encourages us to keep moving forward.

Thank you to our partners, suppliers, attendees, and the Nordic Swan Ecolabel for helping us make Nordic Business Forum a more sustainable event. Let’s continue the work!
