Aslak de Silva Appointed New NBForum CEO

We are proud to announce a new addition to our NBForum family: Aslak de Silva!

Aslak de Silva, the former Chief Revenue Officer at Naava, has been appointed as the new CEO of Nordic Business Forum. Aslak will be taking the lead on March 1st, 2018. Our co-founder and former CEO Hans-Peter Siefen will be staying with the company and focusing more on strategic activities and product development. He will also become the chairman of the board.

Aslak has extensive international experience, having lived and worked in Sweden, Norway, and Ireland. Until recently, Aslak had been leading Naava’s international growth revenue department in Helsinki, Stockholm, and New York. Before Naava, Aslak led sales at Keskisuomalainen.

Aslak: “If your aim is to operate on an international scale – and succeed – you need to master three things: listening to the advice of world-class experts, creating and nurturing strong networks, and approaching situations with the right attitude. Nordic Business Forum has skillfully captured these key elements and crafted a series of business conferences where guests are enabled to leverage every opportunity for personal and professional growth. I have been a long-time, happy customer at NBForum’s events and other trainings, and I am honored to be appointed as the new CEO for such a fantastic group of people. I foresee a bright future for the company, and hope to take its already fantastic concept further, raise it to an even higher standard of excellence, and grow to new, international heights.”

Hans-Peter: “It’s great to have an experienced leader with a relentless drive towards growth at the helm of Nordic Business Forum. At the same time, I appreciate the extra time that I will have in my new position to dedicate to work on the company strategy and product development. Nordic Business Forum’s journey is just beginning, and I’m confident that Aslak is the right captain to guide us into the future.”

In addition to our flagship event in Helsinki, we also have sister events in Stockholm and Oslo. In December 2017, we acquired 40.4% of the shares in Presidents Institute, thereby expanding our operations to Denmark and the Benelux countries. Former US President Bill Clinton will headline the Presidents Summit in Copenhagen in April 2018.

Nordic Business Forum currently employs 28 people across Finland, Sweden, Norway, and Estonia. The company is headquartered in Jyväskylä, Finland. By 2021, the aim is to double in size and become the most significant business conference in the world.
